Medical Care Facility Worship
Second Church organizes an afternoon worship service for the residents of the medical care facility each Sunday at 2:00 pm. Anyone is invited to join this time, to greet residents, pray, sing or help out in any way.
The Fremont Area Friendship Bible Study program is a one-to-one experience for youth and adults with developmental disabilities. A board of directors appointed by area churches administers it. Many people who attend Second CRC participate in this program which meets the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month at 7:00 pm throughout the school year. Friendship provides a wonderful opportunity for Christian service and social interaction.
Kids Hope USA
This is a mentoring program that provides support and encouragement to at-risk public elementary school children. Training is provided for the volunteer mentors who commit to one hour per week in a one-on-one mentoring relationship throughout the school year.
Fremont Service Committee
This committee consists of representatives from the four area Christian Reformed Churches. Their purpose is to donate cars to families in Newaygo County who have no transportation available to them. These cars are donated to this committee by individual’s gifts.
There are a variety of ways to serve each other, the community at Second CRC, and our neighbors. We have Ministry Teams for the following areas: Worship, Fellowship, Outreach, and Discipleship. If you’re looking for a way to serve, this list details the various teams that oversee the ministry needs of the church.
Each year a “Mission Emphasis” Sunday is held. It is a time to not only grow in knowledge about our mission program, but to grow spiritually as we pledge to God and to the church our financial and prayer support of the mission efforts we support. We support the following missions with our Faith Promises pledges: Food Resource Bank, Lakeside Church of Ludington, Appalachia Reach Out, Karin Medical Clinic (Gulu, Uganda), Vera Hansen (with Greater European Mission), and others.
