Valerie has been the administrative assistant and custodian 17 years and counting. She is a lifelong resident of Fremont and member of Second Church.  She enjoys playing with her grandkids, baking, gardening, reading, knitting and crocheting

 Mary V. Folkema

Mary joined the Second Church staff in 2018 and enjoys her role in coordinating the nursery and leading the children’s choir and youth worship team. She delights in sharing God’s love with students and seeing them use their gifts to praise and worship the Lord. Mary graduated from Calvin College and taught elementary and middle school students for 19 years before moving to Fremont and joining Second Church.

She and her husband Mike are the parents of eight children, and spending time with family, playing games, camping, and reading are some of her favorite activities.

Council

Our church is led by a Council made of six elders and six deacons.
